  1. Unless he live off base and have his own apartment. If he's in training on base then I don't think anyone can stay with him. If he send to war zone, I don't think you can go with him either.

  2. no you would live at home, provided for and paid for by the army (british) the husband would live at home as well unless he was called away on service which he would then live at a base in whatever place he was serving at. you have the option of following nearby when hes fighting but the most popular idea is to stay at home and live of the army's handouts. woo!

  3. you will not be able to join him while he is in boot camp. after boot camp he will go to school. depending on the school you may or may not be able too. however, if he is not authorized to move his family down with military assistance, you can pay out of pocket and still be allowed housing.

after his schooling your husband will recieve revised orders that state "authorized to move dependents", which means you get to move to your husbands location on the dime of the Army.

there are other situations that occure whereas, your husband gets stationed overseas on a non-accompied tour. and there are a few ways around that. if you are lucky you can get a company sponsered tour, which means family can go with you, but your tour is longer. for example. your husband gets on year in korea alone, or two years in korea with you.

it really just depends on your husbands MOS and station. you really cant be promised anything until after he gets through boot. then you are more in a position to find out where he is going to be sent.

  4. You either live with him in housing on base, or you are given a housing allowance to help pay for rent in a place off base with your husband.

  5. I think they go to the base and you stay home.

  6. Soldiers and their dependents can either live in base housing or receive BAH to buy or rent off post.  If there is a waiting list for post housing, you'll have no choice but to take the BAH and rent until your name reaches the top of the list.

If your spouse is in the process of joining the Army now, then you'll stay where you are now until he's finished basic and AIT.  You won't be able to join him until he reports to his duty station.

  7. u stay put until after BCT/AIT and then u go to where she/he be stationed at...but u won't deploy w/ him to iraq/afghan...

  8. It will depend on the branch he/she joins, what schooling he/she has to do and where they are stationed when it is completed.  During Basic/BCT/Boot living with them isn't an option. Afterwards with schooling if less than 22 weeks you can't live with them either.  Over 22 weeks it is possible that it might be approved, but the first few weeks they are stil required to live in barracks.  When he/she gets the first orders if they are accompanied it means that you qualify for military housing or you can live out in town.  The military will pay to move you there.  If they are unaccompanied orders (Ie Korea) then you will have to stay where you are and wait until he/she has orders that are accompanied.  There are other overseas (OCONUS) locations that he can go to that are accompanied (Ie Germany, UK, Japan).

While he is on unaccompanied orders he will get BAH (Housing Allowance) that is based on where you are currently living (as long as you don't move to another place during this time).  It is paid with his/her regular Basic Pay and divided between the 15th and the 1st.

If you decide to move to where he is going to school then it is all on your own dime.  You will not necessarily qualify for housing because normally they need a 6 month lease and you are not stationed there.  Plus when he gets the orders if he goes to school in North Carolina and you moved there from say Texas and then he gets orders to Washington State, the military will only pay for your things to be moved from Texas to Washington.  You will have to pay for the move from North Carolina yourself.  You would also not qualify for as much MALT (mileage) or Per Diem.  You would also only get the BAH rate for Texas anything above that is out of pocket.   So you really need to be careful on what you decide.
