If you are named in someones Will who is responsible to contact you ?

what if the executor is a family member who wishes to keep your inheretence from you? what can you do in such cases?

You will be informed by the Friend of the Court, Executor of the Estate or the bank or other informed person.  If you inquire, you will be able to find out from the Friend of the Court in your area or state.

I would say the lawyer handling the estate.  But when the will is read, the lawyer reads it and must see to it that everyone listed in the will be notified of the reading of the will.

Generally, the executor of the estate. Sometimes it is the lawyer that wrote the will or an appointed friend or family member.
