Question:

If you are out of rfresh milk, would you refer powdered or boxed milk (the "shelf" kind)?

I've had both. I prefer the "shelf" milk. A good powdered milk can be very drinkable. They key here is, the COLDER, the better! Also, use fresh spring or well water when mixing powdered milk

  1. I only use powdered milk in my bread machine recipes that call for it.  I have some cans of evaporated milk that I could use in a real emergency;  but I always have a big container of Coffeemate in the refrigerator and would prefer to use that as a substitute.....


  2. I prefer the powdered out of the two, but I always have a small bottle in the freezer for those emergencies.

    Each time I have to use it, I give it a good wash and sterilise and when it has cooled refill with fresh milk, leave room for expansion and freeze for next time.
