If you are quoting the same info from two or more sources to put in a report, do you have to quote the source?

Likewise, if you are quoting one source (i.e. a website), are you obliged to report it?

  1. Yes and if it is a website you should also cite the date you accessed it--just in case it disappears by the time your tutor tries to access it!

    What I would advise is to get hold of a copy of  your school,college, uni's rules for citing various sources and whether they want footnotes, end notes, bibliography etc. Good luck!

Yes to both, even if you don't take a quote, but only distilled the ideas, you still have to credit the source, look at your college/depart hand book for exact requirements, if you did not cite as you went along, and you don't have the books, it is possible with the title and author to look it up on amazon

  3. Yes, when siting sources it is always best to put all your sources. Had you not found the same line being used in both places it would have been sufficient to have only sited it from the one place were you found it, but you actually found it in more then one place and both places should be properly sited in my opinion.

    A bibliography only takes a few minutes to complete you might as well do it and breath easy.
