If you are traveling from Pennsylvania to Florida, do you need a passport?

Just for all you rude people who would like to insult me on this question.. My parents and grandparents were not sure of this question or how to work Yahoo Answers and asked specifically for me to post this question for them.

  2. no but you will need some sort of id to present at security checkpoints unless your under 18

If you are not leaving the US you do not need to have a passport.  However, if you are going to travel on an airline you are going to need some type of ID to pass through security.  Typically you'll use either a drivers license or a passport.  So no, you don't need a passport to travel within the United States unless that is the only acceptable ID you have.  I have provided the link that shows what the TSA considers acceptable ID.
