My friend and I want to take a day trip to Canada, as we live relatively close. The other person traveling with us is 20, but her and I are underage.

Will we be admitted, or do we need any special documents?

  1. Driving?  You need ID and proof of citizenship (birth certificate); also, children under age 18 traveling to Canada without both legal guardians are recommended to have a notarized letter of consent from the non-traveling parent(s) granting permission for the child to travel across international borders.

    Flying?  You need a passport.

  2. My daughter entered Canada alone lots of times from when she was 14 with no special documentation except her passport.
