Also if you are 18yrs. old or older do you still have to have a permit or can you just take the driver's liscense test?

  1. It may differ from state to state.

    Call your local Highway Patrol Office and ask them.

    *From my own experience in Tennessee - I was 22  years old when I got my license and no prior permit was required.
