  1. No, I don't.  Simply because so many are voting for him just because of his skin color.  Yet, there are many of his supporters who know this is true but would rather make out that's it's not.  When you consider the facts that "every" person before him has lost the race for supporting the very things he does, it proves that he's only doing as well as he is because of his skin color!

This one article really does sum up Obama...  I'm just quoting part of it.

...Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire U.S. Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton.

Never in my life have I seen a presidential frontrunner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he lost.

Yet Mr. Obama is promising all those things, and he's not behind in the polls. Why? Because the press has dealt with him as if he were in a beauty pageant.

But let's look at the more defined strokes of who he is underneath this superficial "beauty."...

Mr. Blackwell is a member of the American Civil Rights Union  (now ponder that!)

  2. I am happy for his half accomplishment.  Not happy about his political views at all

  3. I am voting McCain... and yes i do respect Obama.. not only for becoming the first black nominee... but more so for all his big dreams for this nation... I think right now he is a little too idealistic and promising things that are way too big and giving alot of people false hope.. but in the future maybe once he gets more experience under his belt he will tone down a little.. then I think he would make a great president

  4. I respect mcCain for being against torture and for the McCain Feingold bill. Other than that, I don't think he has a clue of what theUS need as far as from the executive office.

    Prayer + research

  5. I don't respect Obama, but I'm proud of America for being accepting and not basing one's credentials by their color.

  6. I am a firm believer that you can't be just any "moron" to get to where they are right now. As for their views on things, well there's two sides to everything. Period.

But yes, I can definitely find respect for both in different ways.

  7. I'm voting for McCain and yes I do respect Obama for being the first half black man to win the presidential nomination

It's his supporters that I will never respect

  8. "his accomplishment" (single) - HA!

  9. As a likely McCain voter, I do respect that Obama won his party's nomination, but that's about it. I don't agree with 90% of his policies.

  10. I respect Mccain for his service to America . The man spent 5 years in a " hot box " as a pow . I admire him for not cracking . But , does that make him qualified to be the President ? The answer is no . I am proud to say I will cast my vote for Obama.

  11. do you respect Obama for his accomplishment of being the first black man to win a major party nomination ?

Yes, he is a mixed race, African-AMerican and White so dont call him Black.

And if you are voting Obama, do you Respect McCain for his service to his country in Vietnam and the Congress?

McCain has given a lot for this country, but he is fundamentally wrong in policy, look at the last 8 years. McCain is more Liberal than his party. But that is not going to fly if he gets elected.

  12. I am voting for Obama,

and I have the utmost respect for McCain.

I would have voted for him if it was him instead of Bush in the last election

  13. In most cases I would have great respect for someone who achieved something like that but not obama I can't stand to see or hear about him he is the worst candidate ever to get the nominatiion I can't respect anyone who wants to infringe my 2nd ammendment rights and double my taxes

  14. No, I would NEVER vote for McCain.

Yes, I am very proud of Sen. Obama for his many accomplishments this election, including running a very positive campaign.

I respect McCain for his service, however, that does not necessarily mean he should be president. I won't be voting for him.

  15. I RESPECT OBAMA FOR HIS BRAINS. HE WOULD BECOME A AWESOME PRESIDENT IF PEOPLE WOULD JUST LISTEN TO HIM AND NOT LOOK AT HIS COLOR.

I THINK THAT MCCAIN IS OUT FOR REVENGE LIKE BUSH WAS. HE ONLY WANT THE POWER OF BEING PRESIDENT FOR WAR PURPOSES.

  16. Of course I respect Obama. Just because I'm voting for the other candidate doesn't mean I don't understand and see why Obama has made it so far, and appreciate the advancement that this country has made having a minority so close to being the national leader.

  17. I respect Obama's educational background.  I do not respect the manner in which he managed to get the primary nomination.

  18. I Respect McCain for his service to his country in Vietnam.

But people please don't forget he has been in the Senate for years and he voted for Bush  over 90% time  so he is a big part of the problems the government have today, why is he saying now that the government is broken and he wants to fix it ?

I respect Obama for his accomplishment and what he has plans for our  country.

  19. I am voting for Obama. I respect McCain for his service to his country, though being taken prisoner and held for years, while an honorable ordeal, is hardly an accomplishment.

His stint in Congress has not been especially stellar, nor has his personal life. His most outstanding accomplishment has been longevity. He's been involved in a lot of sleazy deals over the years.

  20. I respect Obama hugely for being the first black nomination at that. But he wont pray or anything that involves Christianity and if he hasnt noticed america was made up of christians and God gave us this country so it just makes no sense. I feel like he has sumthing going on. I mean honestly i see america failing. Sadly thats wut its coming too

  21. I respect both candidates.

Anyone who has served in the military, any military branch, deserves respect.  Also, he has been in Congress for two and a half decades...that's something in itself.  If I could have voted for him in 2000...I would have (not old enough then).

I like Obama's thought process and what he has supported in Congress.  I respect that he doesn't take lobbyist influence, and in fact goes the opposite way...becoming a community organizer; which gets the local population involved with the local government without the use of lobbyists.

I like this election year, and both the candidates in it.  That is why I still have not decided on whom to vote for, because I simply think both men are, and would be, excellent presidents.

  22. no............................isnt  judging ppl by the basis of colour the basis of racism?

  23. I am voting for McCain. As far as the accomplishment Obama has achieved of becoming the candidate for the democratic party because of his race, well sure....I respect his achievement. It shows our society has worked through barriers and he has stuck through times where he most likely experienced discrimination.  As far as respecting him as a person, I can't say that I do and do not believe he should lead the United States. Commend him for an achievement, but please, don't elect him because of it.

  24. The only thing he does well is reading a speech in public. Without the media in his pocket, he wouldn't have gotten anywhere.

  25. I don't care what color his skin is. I respect him as a person, and I respect how HE has handled himself so far, even though I don't agree with him. But his skin color, to me, is irrelevant. Historic, yes, but I don't care.

  26. Right now I am leaning toward voting for Bob Barr But I do respect both Mr Obama and Mr McCain for what they have accomplished

  27. i am not voting for obama but i do have respect for him although it has nothing to with his ethnicity

not sure if im voting for McCain either but I do hold a lot of respect for anyone who has served especially POW's.  I have no respect for the ones that say McCain isn't really a hero or the ones that say he lied etc... It just isn't right putting down a POW for his service find some other way to attack him

  28. Yes and yes.

And I am impressed the DNC had the balls to SELECT such a EXTREME LEFTIST candidate for President.

Edit: Amit - Do you realize you gave an excellent argument why McCain is different than Bush. Well done.

  29. Regardless of who I'm voting for, I respect both men equally, but differently.

  30. Yes, but we should be accurate with our terms:

Half-black. And, like John McCain, 100% not descended from African-Americans.

  31. I have no respect for the way Obama has run his campaign and especially how he spoke so badly about the people in Pa., his strong arm tactics in Texas, his playing the race card. He should be able to stand on his own 2 feet as a man but apparently that escapes him. Now McCain is a man who has served his country his entire life including being held as a prisoner supporting his country while a prisoner in the time of war. It's McCain and Ms. Palin all the way for me and Obama should pay attention. He would definitely learn some things..
