I agree with you, MissD. My father was in the Navy...it was so hard for us when he was gone...even for my mother. I recently started thinking about joining the Air Force...but I'm afraid it will be hard on my daughter.

  1. I'd truly admire a mother who could. It takes a lot of courage and strength.

But personally, I could never do it. I'm not a "military" girl to begin with just because I'm not strong or anything, I probably would not be able to survive.

  2. i wouldnt be able to do it! My husband is in the Navy and i thought abiut joining also, but I could never leave my son with someone for that long. its killing me to not see my husband for a couple months. But if u can do it, then more power to you!

  3. If your children were grown and self-supporting, it would be OK.

If they are dependent on you, NO.

  5. It depends on the branch and the job. If you are being deployed all the time, no. But if you are basically doing admin or at a support role and have a husband that could help out, sure! I think the reserves is a great option for mothers.

  6. I wouldn't join the military anyway, but mothers especially shouldn't join. Children come before careers.

  7. No, unless their father was of any use. As much as I believe in the independace of women, if you made the decision to have children, you ought to stick by it and devote your life to helping them.

  8. Only if I was poor.

  9. If I really thought I could do it, I would. If anything happens, you know you love your children and you might regret it but you will know you made a difference for the women around you.

  10. NO, wouldn't wanna leave my kids and family.
