  1. Not necessarily, people ask questions on here for all sorts of reasons.

Most people have already formed an opinion on a subject before they ask about it and just need their opinion validating by others.

Some ask because they are interested in others views, some dont know the answer at all and some are just trolling for reaction.

  2. i need answers, but don't ask questions.

    hiya steph :)

  3. I've often wondered the same thing.  It seems that some people aren't really asking questions, they just want a whole lot of others to agree with them.  This seems to happen a lot with political questions, but it can be in any subject.

  4. Yeah, good point i had to tell off some little f****r for being rude to answerers yesterday.

he asked a question and treated anyone who answered like a complete idiot, calling them names and all sorts.

I gave him the verbal thrashing of a lifetime;) x

  5. Excellent point have a star :)

  6. Maybe they want to see whether or not you actually believe in what you are saying to be true.

You could look at it as a way of being sure about it, as in making sure there is no error.

  7. Viper puts it well. There are as many motives for asking questions as there are questions.  With Current Affairs and Politics, much is about learning how much support there is for an idea, and the cut and thrust of defending this idea from opponents.  You get as much information from the flames and insults and ignorance as you do from the metaphorical answer.  And it is information, knowledge and wisdom that we are after isn't it?

  8. Maybe you want to see how other people answer the question to understand a different perspective.  Maybe you shouldn't assume you know why people ask questions.

  9. Because i can?

  10. I think that regardless of what your question is or why you ask it you should be respectful to the people that took the time to answer your question respectfully.

  11. I ask for opinions but I don't always agree with them

  12. I ask questions to find out if the rest of you know anything about the subject, which usually you don't.
