  1. Don't know, but I'd definitely be eating more of it when the in-laws are due over!!!

  2. Throwing up is not necessarily caused by an allergic reaction.  If it were, then your immune system would be involved.  But there are a myriad of reasons one blows chunks.

Now, since your question sounds like it's mianly about the immune system, I shall address that.  When your body faces a substance, usually a protein, it perceives as a threat, the body reacts.  In the case of a milk or soy protein (the allergen) allergy, vomiting can indeed occur.  But often it is so drastic, having tiny bits of the allergen can keep the immunse system on "high alert."  It's best to avoid the substance for a few months, then "challenge" your body with a small does.

It's the way allergy shots work.  Ify ou are allergic to cats or dust, they give you a shot w/ tiny bits of the allergen (the thing to which you are allergic) in it.  It's not enough to make your body freak otu, but allows your immune system to recognize it when it comes around in a larger dose and hopefully not repsond in a negative way (ie: barfing).

  3. Oh, don't push it.

Last time I got the stomach flu....along with my youngest son....we had both had beef deli hot dogs for dinner ........that was in April, to this day our stomachs turn at the mere thought.     If your body doesn't want something there is no use forcing yourself.

  4. Hmmmmm.....not sure about that one.  But your body is saying, in its form of rejection, that it doesn't like what you're putting into it.  So, I'd listen!
