If you become a runner do you still need all that muscle?

I want to be a runner but i dont want to have like a 6 pack or anything. I think it looks sick to have a 6 pack as a girl. Is there anything i could do...?

  1. well you wont get any muscle unless you lift weights and stuff. and having good core muscles help you become a better runner. girls dont get those big 6 packs like guys.. its A TON more suttle. it takes a really long time to get a 6 pack anyways.

    but if you do become a runner, its a good idea to lift a little bit because your muscles break down when you run. then you will just lose muscle and become a bad runner.  


  2. If you don't have a 6 pack now then you probably don't need to do anything.  It is my belief that you can not get a 6 pack unless you want one and try to get one.

    As far as gaining muscle mass goes, that depends on what type of runner you want to become.  For long distances you want to be light weight.  For sprints you want some muscle mass.  The extra muscle will give you power.
