Yes.  Because you would no longer be a direct employee for the company -- you would be a consultant/free-lancer or subcontractor for them instead.  A company is not required to offer benefits to a subcontractor.  If you are a subcontractor, the company would not be required to pay taxes on your behalf either -- you would have to do this on your own at the end of the year.
