Question:

If you bought a car from a tow yard and you found out there is a steering column problem what do you do?

I bought a car from a tow yard and I drove this car maybe 10 miles in traffic towards home when I came out of the gas station I turned left and this is when i felt slippage in the steering wheel I mean an excessive amount of play, then knuckle like noises I called the girl that works for the tow company she said she will call back, she called her boss he says for me to call she gives me the number I call tell him the problem and he says he had no problems when he drove the car. I tell him there is no way i could of done anything its only been 30min or so he said it was 2 hrs.and I should of drove the car back I told him I'm to scared to drive the car, he says it's to late I should of took it back within 15-20 min. Is there anything i CAN DO?

  1. You don't buy cars from tow yards. That was your loss.


  2. well really you shoul dhave notice it when you check it out before buying sorry ..... you dont buy a car for the color....if you would have drove it for 30 minutes seem like you would have seen it wasnt driving right and not buy it but you didnt and now your stuck with repairing yourt car

  3. No tow yards usually sell junk and wrecks. You cant expect much more than that. You should of had in inspected first. The only thing you can do is have it fixed and enjoy your new car..................UJN

  4. You can take him to small claims court and for the future remember these words:  "Caveat Emptor"
