  1. You are required by law to inform the D.V.L.A. of any medical condition which MAY affect your ability to drive.  It is up to them (in conjunction with your doctor) to decide whether or not you will need  to be re-assessed on your driving ability.

Not letting the D.V.L.A. know is a very serious offence.

  2. no, my late father in law became a paraplegic and only had to have car altered for hand use only and have insurance cover. the driving  test is a competency test of handling a motor vehicle and knowledge of road rules. once passed it is assumed you will remain competent and the only changes being to how you 'control' the vehicle.

If it is shown the control of your vehicle is satisfactory then there is no reason to deny you the right to drive.

since all manufacturers of hand controls for cars etc will make them compliant for insurers to insure there should be no problems at all.

  3. i would think so

  4. no ofcourse not

  5. It depends, There are controls to suit drivers of various hand/leg issues, and also disabled people.

I wouldn't see how a back issue should affect it, just make sure that you are physically comfortable on the day of the test.

DVLA will assess any medical issues, and once they have issued you with a driving licence, You are allowed to take the tests.

I hope that you are aware of the current theory test, consisting of multiple choice questions, and hazard perception clips. These are conducted at your local Pearson Proffessional centre.
