Question:

If you build a self regulating system, does it function, or is function just someting we assign to the system?

Such as a heater controlled with a thermostat..

  1. If your system is self regulating it doesn't mean it always functions. Sometimes you get outside interferences or the need to involve someone to interfere. For instance your temperature control system will regulate the temperature at the point you set but if you are cold or hot you will need to adjust the controller to regulate at a different level and you become part of the regulating process. it will then only function correctly if you help it achieve the level of comfort you expect at that time.  


  2. Don't really understand what you are asking.

    Certainly a "heater controlled with a thermostat" will function regardless of what you assign. Whatever that means.
