If you built an electric guitar out anything else but wood, would it effect sound alot?

I seen the "NES Paul" and The Guitar made from the famicom system, and it made me wonder how would they sound like?

is it possible to make a guitar out almost anything?

Roy Clark has a show in Branson where I saw him play an electric guitar made from a 1969 Ford Thunderbird muffler and it sounded great. According to some web sites I visited, he is still featuring it in his act.  Check: http://www.bransontourismcenter.com/bran... So I suppose the answer is Yes...

as long as the fretboard/neck was made correctly and the pickups were good absolutely
