p****y, copyright violations, duplicating copyrighted materials nowadays are very hard to prove. Even software makers,bigtime movie studios have slight chances in winning cases against suspected bigtime underground pirates. They can enumerate p****y laws, but they also have to violate laws that even in dreams they are praying that it will not happen to their families..and that is our Right to Privacy, our Right to be free! as long as its out there then make a copy, Our Right to Share...But earning out of copyrighted materials like selling them is what we are demanding that the authorities will look unto.

So what if you burn a DVD? you have a DVD burner. Share those burned DVD to your friends.. you are even exercising your right to share.. Some are even sleepless waiting for their downloads to finish, and spend money just to get a fast internet connection..and then they will receive a call that they are pirating, clearly those copyright goats are invading their privacy and is killing democracy and freedom!

Sorry to tell you this but it is. But they can do nothing about it because you are not selling, if you do not sell it you are fine.

It depends on if the DVD is store bought, or commercially made; or whether it is a personal DVD that you made of your own videos?  If it is commercially made it is pirating, this would include downloading someone else's video and burning it, then copying it for your friend.  In fact, if YOU made a DVD of your own videos, then your friend made a copy of your DVD without your permission, that also would be considered pirating!  However, who's going to stop you?  Unless your friend decides to take the thing to the cops and say you copied it  for him/her or something, you'll be okay.
