If it's got AV or component video sockets you can - the HDMI connection will only connect to an HD TV.

Yes, all consumer type HD camcorders have some sort of normal video or s-video output so it will play on  a normal TV with regular video inputs.  The picture may show up as widescreen though with black bars at the top and bottom.
