If you buy a blackberry online, do you need to go to your wireless provider to have it set up?

I bought a blackberry pearl online, and i put my simcard in it when i got it, and it doesnt have internet. I can make calls on it and text with it, but it doesnt have a browser, like its supposed to. Is this because I haven't gone to the AT&T store to have it set up and stuff? Help please!

You need to add the blackberry data plan to your account. Once you do that, the browser icon will appear and you can surf the web and setup email.

You don't need to visit the store.

no  you can  turn it on over the phone  or  just  putting  your sim card in  then all  u  need  is a data plan
