If you buy a pager from a website like eBay, do you have to call the company to activate it?

Would it be like a cell phone where you would have to activate it and find out the #? Thanks

Yes, a pager would need to be activated.  The problem is that pagers have pretty well been replaced by cell phones.  I'm not sure you can find a service to use it with.  If you can, the pager will need to be on the right frequency.  Check your phone book and see if there are any paging services listed.
