what questions do they ask? My neighbor's children are not in imminent dnager. They just live in a total filth ridden, dump, go times without water, heat and food and I think I may finally be getting up the nerve to report them. They had the kids taken a few years ago when one said they were being sexually abused. The claim was not substantiated and they got the kids back after about 6 months. The kids were at least able then to stay with their aunt. Their aunt has now almost given up on them. The parents are lazy, non-working, slobs, that sleep all day. They live in a horrible, old, mobile home, with paths to it and thru it. They recently borrowed money from me and my aunt for their water bill. They have not paid my aunt back. Their car is not running, so no way to get groceries and yet are buying cigarettes, soda and lottery tickets at our town gas station. I am just fed up and kids should not have to be in such conditions.

  1. They don't have to be in imminent danger for family services to check it out. If you tell the social worker what you just described, that should be enough to at least give them a reason to visit. If you document what you see, even better. Neglect is a serious issue, and at times easier to prove than physical or sexual abuse.

  2. Call Child Protection Agency- they will check on every call that they get- please call someone! Do not ignore this, think of these poor children living like this. get involved!!!
