If you can't breath for a long time, will blood shoot out your ears or something? I hope blood comes out somewhere... because if your lungs cant get oxygen they've got to bleed, right?? Don't ask why I need to know this please.

  1. I'm not sure how you got to that conclusion.

Like the nurse above me said, there is no blood in your lungs.

A cell that doesn't have oxygen can't function, it will simply die, no blood involved neccesarily.

Certainly lung trauma could cause you to bleed though.

Honestly though, you'd pass out and start breathing again before your lungs died, so no worries, its impossible to kill yourself by stopping your breath.

  2. No

  3. suffocation doesn't make you bleed.

The blood is just a transportation media for oxygen to get through the body. so, if the blood comes to lungs and doesn't exchange any oxygen in alveoli, they'll keep moving around the body in your veins/arteries without having oxygen.

    They won't come out.

  4. no you will not bleed out of anywhere. if you can't breathe, then your tissues become hypoxic and will die, then all functions will cease. the lungs don't bleed unless there is trauma to them. there is not blood in your lungs.....gas exchange happens in the alveoli.

if you die from respiratory failure.....you will not bleed out from anywhere
