It takes me 11 minutes to run a mile and I know that time is terrible, but I want to join track because I like to run and I think it would be good for me. Will track help me get faster or is it pointless to join if i'm this slow...?

  1. Do it. Exercise is good for you, and anyone can join for a reason.

You might want to try Cross Country if your school has that.

  2. go for it!

it will help you get alot faster

and i think that thats awesome.

also who knows you could just be trying the wrong event...

    try everything.

and most of all have fun with it

[you already seem to know that tho]

    :]

  3. just join track because you love it! if you are committed to running your times will drop!

  4. Of course! Run because u want to and dont let anyone else tell u otherwise. And yes, u will get faster if you keep running so dont give up.

  5. I come in last for the 2 mile all the time...and I still do track. I don't do it for the team, I do it for myself.

  6. Go for it!!  Who cares if your slow, its not always about being the best its just about doing something you enjoy.

  7. If you look at the results only one person can win each race.

That does  not mean the rest of the runners should quit.

You should run because you enjoy running.

Training and learning how to run will make you faster, whether you will ever win a race is beside the point.

Most people run to set their personal records, very few people ever set any other kind of record.

Run because you like to run and because it is good for you.
