  1. i will make the ref. play the last 2 minutes of the game, so i could give them a good rucking and a good brian lima HIT!!!

    hahahahaha..

i knw you will agree with me!!!!

  2. I would limit the number of times, per half, that each team is permitted to kick away possession.  This would force more in -hand rugby and make for more excitement.  Bring Rugby back to the "running" game.

  3. I'd make a try worth more, say 7 points, so as to negate a kicking tactic.

  4. I like the idea of changing the points system to encourage the scoring of tries. I would have 6 points for a try, 1 for a conversion and 2 for a penalty or drop goal.

Changes slated for 2008 include allowing the collapsing of a maul and allowing hands in the ruck. As a coach, I am vehemently opposed to both these changes on the grounds of safety. I cannot imagine anything more ridiculously dangerous than allowing people to deliberately collapse a maul and having 8-15 people falling on top of each other. It seems to me that some changes are purely aimed at making the game more enjoyable to watch rather than considering the players' safety or the technical skills of the game.

  5. I think the rules are very close to being perfect ... except for the value of the penalty-kick. Two penalty kicks from one person's boot can currently beat a fifteen-man effort to get a try over the line. That's not right. Either the try needs to increase in value ... say 6pts ... or the Penalty Kick needs to be DE-valued ... say down to 2pts. The drop-goal should stay the same, as it's a real art and a fine piece of skill to successfully kick a drop-goal. But any man with any heavy boot can thump a ball over the posts from a dead-ball situation. That's not rugby!!

  6. I would make drop goals worth 2 points. But also liked mancloud's idea of making a try 7 points, that would have the same kind of effect I guess. But you shouldn't be able to win a game with drop goals and penalities, that makes for super boring rugby.

  7. I'd bring back proper rucking - if he is on the worng side - SHOE HIM OUT OF THERE!!!  lol

    or Extra-time multi-ball ;-)

Seriously, I quite like the game as it is - maybe no kicking for goal from penalties unless you are within the opposition 10 metre line. Possibly that would get more going for tries from a kicked penalty to touch?

  8. Actually I'd change the rule regarding collapsing mauls (I think this is in the pipeline for next year). A maul is difficult enough to defend as it is and this might give the defending team a bit more chance of stopping it. It will also discourage forward play to a certain extent.

  9. Make drop goals worth 10 points
