I have a choice of several different programs to participate in Germany, but I have to decide which city to go to. These are the choices:

Bonn, Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg or Dresden...

Which one would you choose, and why?

  2. frankfurt or berlin

they are the most international ones

berlin is more cult, frankfurt is easier to access because of its airport (the largest in europe)

  3. MUNICH WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, LOTS OF HISTORY, SUPERB CENTRE, MUSEUM YOU COULD SPEND DAYS IN, CATHEDRAL AND CHURCHES A PLENTY, BEER KELLERS, SUPERB DAILY FARMERS MARKET, HOME OF THE LARGEST BEER FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD THE OCTOBER FEST, OLYMPIC STADIUM, ITS ENDLESS , AND ITS CALLING YOU TO VISIT

  4. BERLIN because I live here.Cant go wrong I just opened a large chain of disappointments .....of course wholesale.

  5. I haven't been to Dresden or Hamburg, but of the first 4 definitely Munich or Berlin, both are great.....Next stop Dresden....

  6. Hamburg......its all beautiful.....on the sea....and everyone almost speaks english.....really clean city  most of the others are pretty dirty.....

  7. Dresden - I studied there. Wonderful history and beautiful surroundings.

  8. Berlin - the history of a once divided city - how its handled the growth - the diversity of the modern, hip areas around Kurfurstendam juxtiposed with the Brandenburg gate.  The Berlin zoo and all of the attention its been getting of late.

The last time I was in Berlin was about 7 months before the wall came down.  I've kept up with what's been happening and would love to see it again - maybe this year, if not then next.

  9. Dresden, because the city and the surrounding is beautiful there. A lot of history, museums, bars, Czech Rep. and Poland nearby, 2 hours south of Berlin. Berlin is nice, too. Munich is overrated.

  10. Munich, because of the history of the town and the beautiful surrounding views.  This is a very historic and naturalistic city.  You will not be disappointed.

  11. I live near Frankfurt so I's probaly say....Frankfurt. But the other cities in Germany are really historic too.

  12. easy: hamburg

i spent a year abroad there, studying.

  13. If you will have time for side trips by train, choose Munich--beautiful getaways in Germany and Austria are close by; if not---for in-city action, choose Berlin

  14. I'd definitely choose Munich, because there are lot of sight seeings, for example the German Theater Museum, Museum of Mankind and Nature, the Residenz (Egyptian Art and the crown jewels) and the Valentine Museum. The Deutsches Museum which is the largest science and industry museum in Europe. The Alte Pinakothek and Neue Pinakothek (art museums) The Lenbachhaus Gallery,

The Englischer Garten, In the midst of the gardens are the Kleinhesseloher See, a small lake. Nymphenburg Castle, the Olympic Center north of Munich, Kaufingerstrasse (great shopping street, Viktualienmarkt an open-air marketplace, Hellabrunn Zoo, the beer gardens and the Rathaus a 19th-century Gothic city, twin-onion-domed Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), BMW museum. Munich also has the airport closest to the German Alps. Excellent transportation system and many things more that I can't even remember.

    Have a nice trip

  15. Well, I moved to Hamburg from Munich and I would have to say that overall Hamburg has more to offer for the "real Germany scene". Munich has allot of tourist attitude and it is very pretty. The good thing about Munich is hat it's not far from Austria and Neuschwanstein - the castle that Disneyland copied for there castle is there. Salzburg is fast to get to too. But, again, that is where all the bus load of older tourists go to buy there cook coo clocks and beer mugs. Hamburg is a naturally beautiful city, on the harbor with a great night life and great shopping.

the other city is of course Berlin, that is a fascinating city and the history is well preserved.

It's really what your interested in ...  they are all great cities to visit.

  16. Munich - Hands down winner.

Bonn - too small. Berlin - too new and from what I hear from friends who have been there not that "German" since just about everything has been built since after 1945. Frankfurt - too busy, it is the New York of Germany in certain respects. Big Business city. Dresden - too artsy. Hamburg - too scruffy.

Munich - Beer, sausages, ompha bands, biergartens, everything you think of when you think of Germany.

  17. Definitely Munich. It's not as industrialised as the other ones and you have the most beautiful scenery close by.

  18. Whichever one has the huge science museum I've heard a lot about.  I think it is Munich.

  19. Bonn is too small

    Frankfurt isn't that interesting

Munich is all about s*x shops

I would go to Hamburg or Dresden.
