  1. Cy Young, and  i would ask him how tough it was knowing he had to pitch a complete game almost every time he took the mound, even if he was losing badly..that takes guts and some heart, and thats why he is the best of all-time

  2. Fukudome

    talk about baseball and japan

  3. I have talked to quite a few Major League players (to the guy above me...Cal was one of the best to talk with).  But if I could pick one form the past it would be either Jackie Robinson to talk about what it was like for him to break through the barrier or Roger Maris to hear what 1961 was really like for him and what kind of effect that had on the rest of his career and the rest of his life!

  4. I would speak to Hank Aaron and discuss several issues. How did  discrimination affect him? How did he feel about breaking Babe Ruth's record? What does he think of the salaries and behavior of contemporary players? What is his take on Barry Bonds allegedly using steroids and breaking his record?

  5. Great question. First if I were down in the dumps and need cheering up Ernie Banks. He is always happy and full of pep. Next would be Jackie Robinson just to say thanks and wish he didn't face all the abuse he did. Then if I could go back in time Mickey Mantle and say cut down on your drinking. Its affecting everything you do. Moderation is ok but not all the time. Same thing with Billy Martin.

  6. Ted Williams, could have a year long conversation about baseball with him probably.

One thing I would like to do is talk to any living legend such as Willie Mays and hear what they think about how the game is played today (not steroid stuff though).

  7. Jackie Robinson. Just about every thing. He was a special human being.

  8. tony gwynn.i would have him teach me the perfect mechanics for batting

  9. Man, that's a really tough call. I would love to talk to Cal Ripken, Jr. I had the opportunity once to meet his brother Billy at the Orioles Fanfest years ago, but that's not even close to talking to the man himself.

The person I would really love talking to, however, is Yogi Berra. Now, I'm making this clear: I am an Orioles fan. The Yankees are my mortal enemies. However, I would love to meet Yogi. He's such an entertaining guy. I'd love to have the opportunity to pick his brain for anymore witty sayings.

  10. I would definitely talk to Roberto Clemente and ask him how hard was it for black latin player to enter the Majors and to stay there with all the racism going on towards blacks and towards latins. Then I would ask him how did he become such an amazing player and human being.

  11. I think I would choose Satchel Paige. He's a funny guy by all accounts and he pitched for about 40 years, so you know he'd have incredibly great stories about the ***** Leagues, being part of the first wave of black players to enter the big leagues, and just baseball in general. He pitched against Feller when Feller was 17. He pitched against Dimaggio when Joe was a minor leaguer. He played in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. 40 years of pitched all over would give you a ton of stories and a ton of advice.

  12. Mickey Mantle- and we would talk about who he thought was the best cf in new york. { you know the old song willie, mickey and the duke}I am curious on what he would say, Willie Mays and Duke Snyder always said what if, about mickey mantle if he just took care of himself. I would talk to him about what he thinks his numbers would have been if stayed healthy and took better care of his body, would the number 660 been within his grasp instead of 536.

  13. Kirby Puckett and how he knew he was going to lead the team to game 7 in the 1991 World Series

  14. Micheal Young and we'd talk baseball. I adore him.

  15. I would talk to Ron Santo and make fun of him .

  16. While I certainly think a conversation with any of the above mentioned players would be fascinating, I'm thinking a little differently.

I think Mike Morgan would be great to talk to. He had a 25 year career, played for 11 different teams and would have had so many more teammates that I would think he would have some really great stories. That and the idea of moving around so much probably makes for interesting conversation - who were the best fans, what was his favorite city, etc.

Second choice would be Bob Uecker because he's just so d**n funny.

  17. I would like to ask Sandy Koufax what he would have done differently to turn his 12 year career into a 20 year career where he would not only be considered the most "dominant" pitcher to ever play the game but also the greatest pitcher ever. In my opinion he is the best ever but many fans can't overlook the fact that his career numbers are less than other pitchers and based on that alone they tend to downplay his abilities.

  18. I would talk to Cal Ripken Jr and i would talk about his great career and ask him is it tough being in the majors?

  19. I can think of several but the one that just because of his situation would be interesting. That would be Hank Aaron. I would like first hand stories about his pursuit of Babe Ruths record and all the hatred he must have encountered. Was breaking the record important as a person or as a black person? Does he believe it was easier or harder to do it in Atlanta as opposed to a NY or LA type scenario? Plus just hearing about growing up, who influenced him as a youth? Plus hearing an honest opinion about todays game, I am assuming this could be in confidence. It would take all day to ask the hundred questions I have. Other guys I would love to talk to would be Mike Schmidt, Alan Trammell, Willie Stargell, Dave Winfield (would love to pick his brain about his incredible 3 sport dominance and why baseball?), Denny McLain (just to see what makes him tick, dude is crazy).

Wow, what an awesome question. The more I write the more guys that come to mind. I better quit before I wear both of us out.
