Question:

If you can type fast does it mean you have potential to play guitar fast?

I know this sounds like a silly question but it seems like a translatable skill. If you type each key is like a note without strumming and all, but it takes concentration and thinking, it may be easier but does a fast typer have any promise of potentially being a good guitarist?

  1. To me it all depends on how well you play the guitar and how long you have been playing. if you are new at the guitar you obviously wont be able to play like aerosmith rite away even if you type fast! :)

  2. nah...im a fast typer and i can't even play on my boyfriends guitar....so i dont think so

  4. I type fast but I can't play guitar, not even Guitar Hero...  :)  if you have fast fingers, doesn't mean you can hear and produce music...

  5. typing and guitar playing do not translate to eachother.  when you hold a guitar neck, your wrist angle is different than when you are keying away on a computer keyboard.  the finger movements are also closer together on a keyboard than they are on a guitar fretboard.  good guitarists have long flexible fingers, and an ear for music...

  6. no, it takes a lot of coordination to play guitar fast.
