If you can’t get on with Katto, you must be an ordinary bloke, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brett-Lee-c48419 – Cricket News Update
The star Australian pacer, Brett Lee, has backed his sacked teammate and Test opener, Simon Katich’s stance in his newly-released autobiography titled “My Life”, claiming that the rookie batsman deserves to be a skipper.
Lee, a close friend of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 side, Lee has termed him as a ‘brilliant
leader’ and a ‘top person’.
The pace master wrote, “If circumstances were different, he would have made a great Test skipper. His leadership was brilliant. Plus, he remains a top person. If you can't get on with 'Katto', you must be an ordinary bloke. Period.”
While talking to the media during the launching ceremony of his book yesterday, Lee nullified the notion that he had a rift with Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120.
He told, “But what I will say as well is that I do get on very well with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978. I've been impressed by the way that Michael Clarke has taken over the captaincy. But this guy down here [pointing to Katich] is a wonderful bloke also. I do hope he
can get back in the Aussie cricket team."
The speedster, who has bid farewell to Test cricket after playing 76 matches, is not a part of his national squad which is currently playing an overseas bilateral series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 as he is resting due to an appendix injury.
Kat lambasted Clarke last week, blaming him for his ouster. Now, the dumped batsman is likely to undergo a legal battle with Cricket Australia (CA) for his derogatory remarks against the captain.
Remember, Katich was denied a place in the players’ contract list 2011-12 by the national selectors despite the fact that he had an excellent batting average of around 50. The legendary batter is currently leading NSW in a domestic tournament.
