Should they be turned it? I don't know how many times I've seen people who are disabled working and still drawing in a disability income. Such as recently a guy won his settlement of 1.5 million dollars (yes million) from getting hurt on the job. However, while this is going on he was working part time for a farmer! Should these people be turned in? Can you get paid for turning these people in?

  1. i agree..mind ur business..im in the same boat..worked since i was 16, now 49 and now have a permanent injury that prohibits me from working full time..i shud be able to receive disability...but some ppl dont realize there are two types...one for a person who has never worked due to disability and those...like myself who have paid into SS all our working lives...no taxpayer supplement..its all based on how much we have paid in..and YES we can work to supplement the few pennies we will receive from the monthly disability payment..i'll let you know this...i will get about 1/2 of what i would get if i could continue to work..not somethin to look forward to...i may lose my house over this...i didnt plan on fallin and endin up havin 3 surgeries on my harm..leavin me with a permanent nerve injury...

  2. Even if he were disabled, he is still entitled to get the money from the government and work part time.  There is a certain amount of money he can earn without having to pay taxes on it.

Now, for the 1.5 million dollar settlement, he would still be able to work, but will have to probably pay taxes on it.  If the settlement were from workmen's com, he would not have to pay taxes on it.

  3. People on disability are allowed to earn a nominal amount of money without losing their benefits. Perhaps you should mind your own business instead of trying to earn money as a snitch!

  4. You can collect disability as a supplemental income if your injury prevents you from working consistent or long hours.

  5. I think given their parameters, they can work up to a certain amount per year.  If you know in fact that they are working illegally and after being paid disability benefits, yes you can report them.  Don't expect to be paid in turn though, that would be too much to ask if you ask me.
