  1. There is only ONE thing that I would have changed about my childhood - my parent's situation and/or true relationship (before I was born).

I found out in my late 20's that my mother ran away with my dad from eastern Canada across the country when she was only 18 yrs old because she didn't want to be near her mother. Now I understand why. My dad was legally married to another woman when they came out West, and her mother KNEW about it! Her mother came out West to try to take my mother back home, but when her mother found out my mother was pregnant with me, she went back home alone.

To sum up, I am a child born "out of wedlock" and ever since I've known about it, I'm completely ashamed and dismayed. It has changed my perception of who I am (because of my belief system) for the rest of my life.

  2. im still a child

  3. Honestly, I would've worked harder in school.

  4. A different set of parents would have been great.

  5. I wouldn't be shy.  I missed so many opportunities.  I missed out on so much even with my parents.  I would give voice to the questions and feelings I only thought and felt.
