If you could afford to buy only one ghost hunting tool, what would you recommend ?

A good digital voice recorder.  We pick up far more things on voice recorders than we do any other piece of equipment we use in investigations.

If there is one thing you need, it's knowledge.  So if you're asking about the sum total of things you could get, then a book would be it.  If you are asking about actual tools of the trade, so to speak, probably a digital audio recorder.  There are several kinds, in fact, mine came with my mp3 player, so multi use item there.

A charm for protection. That Way if you made a ghost mad you could keep him/her at bay.

That way if you don't locate any ghosts you can always use the camera for other things.

Well, since in my opinion the best tool a paranormal investigator can have is them self, I would recommend a book to you. "The Ghost Hunter's Guidebook" by Troy Taylor. This book has all of the essentials for somebody starting out in the field and even the seasoned pro. I still read it. It's a great resource.

Complete IR and Motion Video System with Monitor.  Very expensive!  But without an open mind or knowledge (Books) then it is all a waste of time and money correct?  Good luck!
