You don't have to.  They will tell you.  Actors talk about themselves all ther time except when sleeping, on set or stage and while actually swallowing drink or  food.  Or so they say.

I don't know if we are asking specific questions.  But I do know that we are listening.

The Soviets (and now the Russians) have been doing it for decades.  We have also been doing it for some time.

The science is called astroseismography (for the sun: helioseismography).  Detecting sound waves travelling through the Sun, giving us information about density, temperature, and even the shape.

For example, helioseismic holography is used to turn these sound waves into a picture of the far side of the Sun, so that we can detect sunspots before the Sun's rotation brings them into view.

So, I guess that these people are really asking the question: Where are your spots?

In general, we also ask questions like: "What is your temperature, what is your density?

Using other techniques (like spectroscopy) we also ask: What are you made of?  How fast are you rotating? How strong is your magnetic field? Are you approaching us or receding away?

And often, they answer.

I would ask whether anyone else has visited them, and if so, where did they come from? I would ask our own Sun about human history - we have this amazing ability to muddy it up with opinions and suppositions. A 3rd party "who" was there to witness it all might be a refreshing look at things.

All you top contributors - jeez, this is obviously an "if these walls could talk" kind of question. Exercise those right lobes!!!
