  1. This may not be popular in this forum, but I would like it to be disproved that spirits leave electronic evidence or signature behind when they appear.  I have a couple of reasons for this.

First, there is a huge business that is abused by scam artists and other unscrupulous people who take advantage of well meaning people who are searching for evidence and meaning in their lives.  There are phoney electronics and nonscientific instruments that are being sold as "ghost detectors".  I'm not saying that none of the equipment is useful, but there is a big opportunity for people to be taken advantage of.

Next, the search for non-physical beings using physical means distracts most researchers from the larger truth.  That is, if there is a spirit in a location, and if that spirit is trying to communicate, it's not enough to capture it on film or record cold spots or detect electrical anomallies.  A spirit is trying to communicate with another spirit, and most likely isn't trying to be recognized by some electronic device, but is rather trying to touch your spirit.  It would be much more effective for the ghost hunters to spend time preparing themselves for the contact and learning to listen.  There are many very dedicated and thoughtful scientists who are distracted by the physical tools and electronics, and they never take the time to focus on what is most important - helping another spirit to find peace whether anybody else believes that it happened or not.

So, if it were proven that there were no electronic signatures for spirits, those who are interested in the phenomenon could focus more on their personal development and their communication and listening skills rather than spending their time pursuing and attaining more and more electronic equipment.

Thanks again for the question B!

  2. I would like spirits or ghosts or whatever you choose to call them to be discounted because some of the other stuff you can disprove using science. You know like people say they have esp but only get as good as random results in tests ect. Where as ghosts are more imaginary and harder to pin down. If people say they feel the spirit of dead Aunt Edna it's very had to prove that they don't.

Of course it would be even better to disprove the existence of God....

  3. werewolves... they r scary

  4. I would choose psychic powers.

  5. Psuedoskeptics -

This would include the Amazingly dishonest Randi and the Committee for Using Bad Science to examine the claims of the paranormal.

    Psi

  6. i always lose one sock in the dryer....it seems to be a TD1 violation. i'm a science guy but at this point its gotta be a ghost who has a sock fettish...this is measurable and predictable.

  7. I would like demon possession to not exists, because it is too cruel to the people it happens to.  That is usually children.

  8. that grant an jay are wrong about orbs!It must be all tha dust from the plumbing clouding there conclusions, orb there really afraid of being attacked by one.Blessed be..............!

  9. Interesting pair of questions you've asked here.  I'm curious to see how they turn out.  Then I have a related question after that. <evil grin>

More than anything else, I would like to see God disproven.  People's belief in God has been used as a justification for more atrocity, bigotry, hatred, and persecution than anything else in human history.  I believe God is the last great obstacle to the true enlightenment of our species.  Belief in God has also been the source of great inspiration, but I don't think that outweighs the evil so traditionally done in his name.

God has served his purpose.  Now I believe it is time for us to grow up as a species and put childish beliefs behind us.

Of course this will not happen in the forseeable future.  Over the next week, probably 20 to 50 more innocent people in any of a couple dozen countries will be blown to bits, or gunned down, or hung, or tortured to death, or beheaded by a 12 year old boy with a knife, or stoned to death in the street by their own family, and the last thing they will hear is the chant in their own language, "God is great!"

Edit: Awww, psi, you copped out!  Well, I guess you get away this time.  After all, she did say "paranormal related." <chuckle>

  10. Nice answer, Tunsa! I liked it. Anyway, back to B's question, I think it would have to be God. There's WAY too many things that have happened because people gave the wrong answer to the God question.

    "Do you believe in God?"

    "No." Dead.

    "Do you believe in God?"

    "Yes."

"Do you believe in MY God?"

"No." Dead. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Catholics, Pagans, Wiccans, and just women in general have all gotten the short end of the stick.

Or the witch hunts that happened all throughout history. Because of the Malleus Malefacarum (sp), a book describing how to find, interrogate and destroy witches written by a God-fearing Christian,  over 100,000 innocent people were killed because they were accused of being witches.

God-fearing Christian seems to be a contradiction in terms to me. If you believe in God, and he's such a good deity, why should you fear Him every minute of everyday of your life?

I sense I've just become unpopular. Well, I've been that way all my life, and it's nothing new.
