If you could choose would you go to Dublin, Berlin, Munich or Barcelona ?

Taking my partner somewhere special for 1 Year Anniversary.

Naturally it depends where you are traveling from which will determine the transportation cost.  If it is during October I would coincide Munich with Oktober Fest. . . .Insane is the word!

I have been to all four but under the circumstances would choose Barcelona to give you a unique different food flavor, sounds and smells.  I personally like Spain and believe it will be less expensive.  Before you go get a 'Lonely Planet Guide' book on Spain and plan your activities day by day.

If it's a romantic trip, I would choose either Berlin or Barcelona.

Munich is a bit small and it's not the most romantic of cities. I would one hundred percent avoid it during Oktoberfest - it's full of horrendously drunken foreigners who can't hold their beer.

Dublin is fine, but again, not hugely romantic and very expensive.

Berlin is my favourite city in the world. There is so much to do and see and you can easily spend a full week just wandering around the streets and being blown away by the beautiful architecture and historic sights. It is also quite cheap, provided you stay and eat in the streets just off the main drags of the Ku'damm and Unter den Linden.

Barcelona is excellent for all the same reasons. I would choose between the two based on the type of food you prefer.
