If you could confront the one person who has done the most damage in your life, what would you say to them?

It did happen to me. I was given his phone number and phoned him. The words "I forgive you" were true. I knew I meant it too because I no longer felt anger towards him. I'm glad I phoned him because he died this past May. We both needed the closure that phone conversation gave us.

I don't need to. They know who they are, what they've done and how I feel about it.

I'd say "Thank you." It was because of that experience that I redefined myself. It changed my life. I feel like a completely different person, much for the better, I think. It's what you choose to do with your circumstances or your experiences that makes you who you are. Don't be a victim. Be a hero.

I would have to go to his grave at this point... But if I did I would tell him he is rightly where he belongs and he got everything he deserved. And thank him for making me a much stronger person in the process through all his abusiveness, and again thank him that he killed himself and not me in the end.

Thank you for opening my eyes and making me see that I deserved so much better, I only wish I would've seen it sooner. (To my daughter's father with whom I was in a relationship with for 5 years and it was full of accusing, controlling, and abuse at times every way imaginable but more so emotional.)
