Who would it be and why? I'd go with cate blanchett she seems smart, she's beautiful, and has a good sense of humor.

Edward Norton.  He's absolutely brilliant; he cares about the environment/global issues without flaunting it; he's handsome; he seems really easy to get along with--like he could talk to anyone on any level.  Really down to Earth; he has a cute sense of humor.

Down side:  He's dated Courtney Love.

So my back-up date would be Robert Downey Jr.--for obvious reasons.  He's amazingly handsome, hilarious, and he can sing as well as act.  He seems a lot less responsible than Norton.

I hate to admit it but George Clooney seems like someone I would enjoy hanging out with - funny, doesn't take himself too seriously, tries to make the world a better place. Not bad on the eyes, either.

If I had to limit myself to one, I'd go with James McAvoy. He's absolutely gorgeous, and he's such a brilliant and versatile actor. I mean, who else can go from "Narnia" to "Last King of Scotland" to "Becoming Jane" to "Wanted" and do it THAT well? I firmly believe he's going to win an Oscar one day. I can accompany him on the red carpet, and it wouldn't even matter to me that he's shorter than I am. :P Plus, he loves the movie "Goonies!" What Gen X woman wouldn't want that in a guy?

Is this a trick question lol.  I would have to say based on looks Charlize Theron or Angelina Jolie.  Based on personality or talent I'd have to say Bruce Willis (lol jk...but seriously).  If I had the chance to date John McClane himself and brag to all my friends...who would turn down the oppurtunity?  Regardless if I became a victim to all the g*y jokes lol.  It'd be so worth it.
