Question:

If you could design your own travel backpack...........

Hello,

Myself and a couple of buddies are working on producing our own backpacks for backpackers rather than hikers.

We want it to encompass all of the needs of a backpacker.

Anyone have any ideas on features/design that they would like?

Some ideas include a built in cable lock and a padded canister to put a bottle of alcohol (prevent spills through your gear).

We would really appreciate any feed back!

Thanks.

  1. I like my backpacks to be flexible in terms of use.  For example, I like packs that have that zippered flap that can make the area into two smaller spaces.

I like there to be storage of some sort on the front of the straps.  It is very irritating to have to lift off a huge pack to get some money out of the back.  Like a zippered pouch on the big padded flap that comes around your waist. I would actually make that portion a f***y pack that could be removed and taken for day trips.

If my pack zipper bursts during my trip, the company is getting a very stern email from me! The highest quality of seams, zippers and snaps are a must.
