I had a college professor I looked up to once who said in class that girls only go to college to find husbands. Mind you, this was back in the sixties. There were no women police, or mayors, or CEO's back then and what he said may have been largely true. But I still think a professor had no business saying something so discouraging to girls in general. I can't blame my whole life on any one person but it was around that time I gave up on a higher education and have worked in ordinary jobs all my life instead of pursueing a career. If I could go back there knowing all I know now I would have a comeback ready for that smart@$$ like "maybe that's true because of people like you trying to convince us we can't do anything else!" Boy, would that feel good! I already feel better just having expressed this for the first time. What's your story? Who would you tell off?

  1. My ex boyfriend! He treated me terribly, but I was so "in love" (haha yeah right--I thought I was) so I stayed with him. One night, he told me to drive to his house so he could see me, and I did (45 minute drive), and when I got there, he wasn't home. He was playing a game at his friends house (5 minutes down the road). Instead of coming to get me, or coming home, he said, "I'll be there in 5 minutes)..but after waiting on his front steps for 55 minutes, he finally showed up! :( I would tell him off SOOOOOOO BAD right now, but at the time, I just cried.

  2. The boys who used to call me ugly! I still have baggage! It's pathetic!

  3. Wow! Great story and good question! I'm pretty "out spoken" about myself. I don't want anyone to misunderstand or mistake me for someone else. LOL  :) I would have probably told someone off who hurt someone elses feelings or was rude to them. I can't think of one story off the top of my head, but I'm sure I would go back and stand up for someone. I've learned as an adult how strong words are, and the most efficient way to use them. Whew it's hard growing up.

  4. my cousins friend....
