    BOB-(battery operated boyfriend)

    1 pair of flip flops

    iphone

    a case of Budweiser

  2. 1: Financial data. Specifically, stock information. If I've got 60 years of known history to relive, I might as well profit by it, David Xanatos style.

2: Information on 9/11. Maybe next time around they'll actually do something about it.

3: Historical information. Just enough information - and information on who to give it to - to remove certain lynchpins, so that history will emerge as something more to my liking.

4: +1 on today's medical knowledge, but not forensics. I feel the police are too powerful as-is, so I don't want to give them a six decade leg up on everyone else.

5: The space shuttle. What? you said I could have one of anything I wanted. I would bring the Space Shuttle, complete with the base in Florida they launch them from, part-and-parcel. Give us a sixty year, multi-billion-dollar leg up on the Russians for good and all. Maybe that way be the time 2008 comes round again, I'll have my hydrogen-powered flying car.

  3. All the above answers are wonderufl!  But one factual error -- about the answer "Plenty of food, gasoline and vehicle tires. (America was rationing those items at that time due to the war.)"

America was not at war in 1940, so there was no rationing of food, gasoline and vehicle tires, nor of anything else.  American declared war on Japan on December 8, 1941.
