  1. 1.  England - I want to check out all the amazing sites and places to go.  Stonehenge, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and seeing a musical, of course!  It would also be easy for me to fly to Amsterdam from there---I have family there and I'd love to visit them.  Plus, I love the Netherlands (been there several times)

    2.  France - I speak French, so I'd like to travel there and test my skills.  My aunt lived there for a while, she loved it.  My parents like it there too.  I'd check out the shopping, the Eiffel Tower and all the famous art museums.  One dream of mine is to make it to Monet's house.

    3.  Spain - Something about it intrigues me.  My friend went there to visit a sister studying there for a semester, and he said it was wonderful.

    4.  Greece - My father (who's from the Netherlands) says that Greece is his favorite country (after Iceland, of course, we're from there too.  Now THAT's a great country).  I've seen his pictures, and it looks absolutely breathtaking.  Plus, I love Greek food.

    5.  Austria - I've heard Vienna is the music capital of the world.  As a musician, it would be my dream to go there.  It looks absolutely lovely, and my grandparents said it was beautiful.

  2. Budapest - You must see the parliament building and look over the city from the Pest hills. Fab!

Vienna - Fun place to walk around.  Gotta see Schoenbraun Palace.  The Hapsburgs knew how to build a palace.  Great art museums.  Even this old Fisherman enjoyed them.  Go see the one in the park with the Klempt art.

Venice -  Just a neat place to visit and take a gondola ride and ride on the vaporetta.  Fun shopping and walking.  Go to the Roxi bridge and to St. Mark Square.

Florence -  Lots to see. You gotta see David, the Cathedral and the Uffizi museum.

Cinque Terre - On the coast west of Florence.  Neat place to walk from town to town along the coast.

Rome - You know all the stuff that's there.  Vatican City is a must visit.  You need a guide to get in to see the Sistine Chapel.  They don't let you in by yourself any more.

The Amalfi coast of Italy near Naples and Sorento.  Just gorgeous.  You gotta have lunch at one of the little reataurants next to the shore in one of the towns.  Romantic.

OK, so that's 6 and 4 of them are in Italy.  The Italians are really welcoming folks.  I liked Italy best of all the countries in Europe.

You can add St. Petersburg, Russia to the list.  You must see the Hermitage and Peterhoff otherwise you won't have officially been to Europe.  While you are at it slip over to Moscow.  Lenin must be rolling in his grave to see what the Russians have done to Moscow.  It is New York on steroids.  Red Square is on the must see before you die list.

OK - enough.  Now go have fun.  73 from the ole Fisherman

  4. 1. London, UK because I love it there and have friends there and it is easy to get around.

    2. Berlin, Germany because I speak German and have always wanted to see all the WWII stuff.

    3. Zurich Switzerland, because my brother went there and loved it.

    4. Rome, Italy because there is so much history there.

    5. Stockholm, Sweden because I heard it is beautiful there and that is where my ancestors are from.
