If you could live anywhere in canada, where and why?

I have visited all ten provinces and lived in 5.

When I was in my 20s I moved to Calgary where I stayed for most of the next 40 years. I stayed because I had arthritis and, after criss crossing the country several times, I discovered that the dry air in Alberta made the arthritis much easier to live with than anywhere else I had lived. I left for South Africa where it is also dry.

When I came back, I landed in Ontario. I really like Ontario but I have gone from a relatively mobile person to almost a total cripple and it is always worse when it is wet - this year that has been almost daily. I would go back in a fast flash if I could.

My daughter and my friends are there, I know my way around. If I wasn't involved in a long term medical treatment here for another condition, I would be gone. Having said that, I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every place I have lived over the years - Dartmouth/Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver in Canada, California in the States and Polokwane in South Africa. Every one special in it's own way.

Lived in Pemberton, B.C., for almost 12 years - surrounded by the Coast mountains, very rural but just 30 min's drive from worldclass skiing, 2 hours from Vancouver ... about 2000 residents ... love the small town lifestyle.

Now live in Panorama, B.C. ... even smaller, resort atmosphere ... in the mountains again, this time the Purcells ... Pan is on the other side of the province from Pembie ... about 4 hours' drive from Calgary!

No need to move ... am happy here!  ;-)

I'd be right where I am, in the Comox Valley. This is the best place I've ever lived. Good climate, good scenery, good food, beaches everywhere, mountains close by, you name it, it's here. Mind you, if I won the lottery I might buy a ranch in Southern Alberta to spend part of the year on but wouldn't want to be there year round.

Since when did Alberta change it's name?    I would definitely live anywhere along what is known as the Sunshine Coast...Vancouver northward on the west coast....  I have relatives who live in a tiny town called Garden Bay and it is just so gorgeous with it's mountains that run right down into the ocean... the fishing is great and the people are wonderful.. there is a pleasant mixture of  English speaking and Native Indian cultures....If you love the ocean and great summer days and winters that are not bitter cold, then the Sunshine Coast of Canada is the best place for you to live...

I have lived all over the country including Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Saskatoon and Toronto and I have to say my all time favorite is Toronto for sure. The Big city urban lifestyle just suits me the best and nowhere in Canada can compare to the TeeOoo for that. If you don't like the big city it may not be for you but there really is something for everybody here which cant be said of the other cities Ive lived in. I have lived in Toronto for 4 years now and I still discover something new and wonderful almost everyday. Most cities in Canada are great places to live though so you can have a good quality of life in any one of these cities.

Halifax. It's a lovely city and the people there are super nice. Maritimers are friendly and naturally nice. They don't have this "we're the greatest here" which I've found on the West coast. As I've heard said people in BC never look beyond the mountains. I've lived on the Prairies (Regina and Winnipeg), and I originally come from Montreal. Montreal is a wonderful city to dine in and shop but wouldn't want to live there. Halifax is my choice.  I must say though that the best summers are found on the Prairies; clear blue skies, dry air (not muggy and hot) and usually not much rain. The winters though are a killer.
