I'd take the Cubs because as much as I hate to admit it I could trot the worst team onto that field and still sell out games. I think this team would probably bring me the most profit.

  1. I would want to own the Yankees. They are my favorite team. Also, if I own the Yankees, then you know I have a lot of money.

  2. Even though I am a die hard NY Met fan, I would own the NY Yankees.  Thinking srategically I would make the most profit from them.   Even if they were in last place they would sell out games almost everyday.

  3. Hands down the Cubs and not because I'm a Cub's fan.  Other people already commented that Cubs and Wrigley Field is a cash cow.  Plus Chicago fans don't expect their teams to win championships every year like NY fans/media do.  So there would be alot less pressure on a year to year basis owning a team.  Most people only know that the Cubs haven't won a World Series in 100 years and they are the lovable losers etc. They really don't know why reasons why that was the case.  The Cubs were not the big drawers at Wrigley until the birth of WGN telecasts went nationally in the early 1980's.  ALmost instantly a fanbase was born. Some thing happened in ATL with TBS.  Combine that with Haray Caray and the Cubs almost going to the WS in 1984 and slowly but surely, the Cubs were slowly creating a cash making monster of a franchise.  1 big fact on top of this.  The Chicago Tribune bought the franchise from the Wrigleys in the early 1980's.  Why was this a huge event??  The Wrigleys were OLD money in baseball at time and old man Wrigley treated the Cubs like a 3rd rate act.  Hence Wrigley Field NEVER changed all of those years and he made just enough money from owning the Cubs that it did not matter if the Cubs ever won a thing.  Same thing was pretty true for the White Sox and the Comiskey's.  Hence that they went WS droughtless almost as long as the Cubs did until 2005.  Where the White Sox screwed up was not having their games nationally seen as the CUbs did back then.  WGN is a huge reason today why the Cubs have one of the largest fan bases in baseball.  So in many ways, there has been 2 completely different Cubs franchises in history.  They Cubs owned by Wrigley and the Cubs owned by the Tribune.  Sure the Tribune got knocked ALOT for just looking at the bottom line first but they helped change the clubs perception nationally from day one.  Each decade, the Cubs have continued to put a better product on the field from increased revenues,(something that Wrigley never did in ALL of the decades that they owned them)better scouts, better managers/coaches, etc.  Today we have one of the better teams in the game.  Just a 1 year wonder?? Sorry..this has been a 27 year project in the making!!  So if I can't run the Cubs..I hope that Mark Cuban does!!

  4. red sox but my luck they will suck then so i want them not to change nothing

  5. It really depends on what i would want out of it. Money or championships?  I would take the yankees, look how steinbrenner turned them into a money machine. He created the YES channel, and other teams like the red sox, orioles, nats a lot of other teams created their own channel to get revenue. And for championships, i dont think anyone can argue no matter how much you hate the yankees, that they put out a team that has a chance to win it every year. This year is an exception but the season isnt over.

  6. At a minimum value of about $200 million I would take any of them and that would become my new favorite team.

  7. The Red Sox

  8. The Minnesota Twins

  9. I'd take the Rangers.  If Bush could own them, so could I.

  10. As my favorite team I would choose the Boston Red Sox.But they cost a lot of money their worth over 700,000 and the yankees are worth over 1.3 billion wow i would probly buy the lowest amt of lowest team salary.

  11. Yankees

  12. The Rangers. Something needs to be done about them.

  13. From a financial standpoint?  The Yankees (they are worth a few bucks)

From a sentimental standpoint? The Yankees (I am a very big yankee fan)

From a I'd love to take a team and reclaim the Glory days?  The Pirates (With 14 losing seasons in a row, I think it is time for Roberto Clemente to see his team return to winning ways- so to speak)

  14. The Cubs.  Why? They're my rival.  I'd personally make sure they don't win the title for another 100 years. I'd still make money, we already know Wrigley would still fill up year after year.

  15. The White Sox...than I would destroy the franchise MUHAHAHAHA ALL GOING TO PLAN

  16. The Cleveland Indians. I'd actually spend money to make the team better unlike the cheap Dolans.

  17. The Minnesota Twins.  Small market, but has the most potential of any team.  Respectable players who are not all about themselves.  Plus a city that loves their team and aren't a bunch jerks like Yankees and Red Sox fans.

  18. Boston Or Washington because there both my favorite teams.

  19. the Cubs

cause you can have the worst team in baseball and the cubs fans will still pack that stadium.....cubs fans are the most pathetic fans in baseball...they are the decrease to the city of Chicago

  20. The cubs!  Why?  Because I would pay the players minimum mlb wage.  I would let the red sox and tyankees buy all my good players. I would also charge the Fans $15 a beer and STILL sell out the the stadium!  I would be RICH!!!!!!!!!

  21. Rangers, i would just change their pitching, plus they are beasts in the minors.

  22. The Boston Red Sox... I'd s***w the team up so friking much they'd never win a World Series again! Haha!

    I'm a Yankee fan  :)

  23. Im a die-hard Yankee fan, so guess.. :)

  24. Th Cubs.....why, you will see in about 2 months.

Plus, hello.....they are a cash cow.

  25. The Red Sox.

  26. From a money standpoint, the Yankees. Richest team in the universe in terms of marketing, tv deals and history. Travel anywhere in the world and you're going to see scores of kids walking around in Yankee caps. They may know nothing about baseball and have seen the logo in some rap video but that only proves the point. The Cubs and the Sox fortunes will rise and fall but the Yankees are in institution.

  27. The Seattle Mariners, not merely for sentiment but to get rid of that absentee owner!  I honestly think that if this guy is unwilling to leave Japan even to visit his team, look over the facilities and otherwise become familiar with his business, well, I don't care how much money he made off Nintendo, he is a lousy businessman, and it is beginning to show in the poor performance of the team.  Let's toss Lincoln and Armstrong out of there while we're at it.

Seattle is a good market and there are lots of dollars to be made.  How about starting up a Mariners-Blue Jays rivalry to draw more people down from British Columbia?  (Canada's only MLB team and all that.)  Lots of possibilities, from tight pennant races with the Angels (if we ever get off our butts) and of course the ever-present hatred of all things pinstriped, starting with A-Rod.  (Hmmm...maybe "Madonna Play Money Night?"  Fans still toss play money from the upper deck at Safeco every time A-Rod comes to bat...)

  28. duhh the chicago cubs! i want to be the owner sooo bad but no money!

  29. The Dodgers. They never listen to me and do this stupid stuff which never turns out good (Jones!!!!!)

  30. Cubs. Obvious reason is they are my favorite team. Die hard fan my whole life. And also they could have the worst record in baseball and still sell out games. In the end, owning a team is all about money.
