  1. I would pick the Landor Theatre Pub in Clapham.  http://www.landortheatre.co.uk/  This is because unless you're from London you've likely never been to a theatre pub.  The shows at this one are usually pretty good.  You get cheap entertainment, alcohol and good food all at the same place, what more could you want?  I also like Clapham and other undervisited areas of the South Bank!  The pub looks like any other pub but in the back there's the tiny theatre and you can bring your pint with you to the show!

  2. I think I would pick "Ye Olde Mitre Tavern", just off Hatton Garden (jewellery quarter, near Chancery Lane tube station).

It's very small, friendly, very atmospheric, old-fashioned, has some nice beer, and traditional pub snacks, and has an interesting history (it was attached to the London residence of the Bishop of Ely, and, along with the adjacent street, where the oldest Roman Catholic church in use in England is located, was ruled as part of Cambridgeshire, rather than London, until relatively recently).

    See http://fancyapint.com/pubs/pub92.html for more info

In fact that website might help you find some other lovely pubs as well

  3. Ye Old Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street... it's old... very old, still has a lot of the old tables and rooms everywhere, local ales on tap, and is famous everywhere for the pub Charles Dickens used to drink at when he lived in London.  It's still a favourite for Fleet Street journallists after all these years too.
