Gotta pull a page from your book Woody, but I want to give proper credit to you. Thanks for the idea.

  1. sending a prime tyson back to fight a prime marciano seems to be the # 1 choice.i would like to send a lightweight floyd mayweather back to the 70s to fight roberto duran.

  2. I would bring ali rocky marciano jack demesy jack johnson and mike tyson all in there prime.

I'd say ali or rocky would win.

i'd love to see tyson v demspy that would be a war i wouldn't no who would win tho.

  3. i would put Marvin hagler against Sugar Ray Robinson. The two best middleweights in the history of boxing in a battle of the ages.

  4. I'd send Pavlik back to fight Hagler

Lennox Lewis back to Sonny Liston

    Tyson to fight Foreman

    Holyfield to fight Braddock

    Tyson to fight Baehr

    Either Klitschko to fight Baehr

  5. Manny Pacquiao, to fight Luisito Espinosa in his prime, Rolando Navarette on his prime, Flash Ilorde in his prime and Pancho Villa in his prime. and Sgt. John Rambo IV to fight Rocky 1.

  6. I would send Floyd Mayweather Jr. to 1938 and have him fight Henry Armstrong.  I would like to see how he would have fared against "Homicide Hank"  I would have also liked to have sent Mike Tyson from 1988 against the 1971 Joe Frazier.  Now that would have been a collision.  Good question sir.

  7. I would have sent Roy Jones to fight Archie Moore.

I would also send Erik Morales to fight Wilie Pep

  8. I would send Hagler back to the 50s so that he could get it on with Sugar Ray Robinson at Middleweight to settle the argument of who is the best Middle of alltime.

  9. I would love to send the 1996 version of Roy Jones back to the late 40's early 50's era.

Because of the size of heavyweights back then, Roy could have pulled a Henry Armstrong of sorts, and hold and defend 2 (or maybe even 3) titles all at the same time.  With his year round training and supernatural physical abilities he would be able to move between 160 (at the absolute lowest) and 170+ comfortably and dominate every fighter from 160 up.

If we are suspending the aging process, he probably could have done this easily up until 1965 when Ali's size advantage would have been a big problem.

Before I'm berated with thumbs down, etc. - please just go and review some Roy Jones clips from 1993-2002 and watch power and speed defined - it is completely unique.

  10. Tyson vs. Frazier (or Liston) in they're primes

  11. I will try to not duplicate any I listed for Woody's question, here's my next list, but I have to limit it to matching two fighters from separate era's, trying to place a modern fighter in a specific era without narrowing the competition to another fighter is a bit too complicated for me.

Roy Jones Jr. vs Gene Tunney, I actually think Roy would have taken Gene, I hold Jones in that high of esteem.

Kelly Pavlik vs Rocky Graziano, an interesting slug fest, I favor Pavlik in this one.

John "the Beast" Mugambi vs Carmine Basilio, another pair who never backed up.

James Toney vs Billy Conn, this one would have been interesting, at 175 it would have been a classic.

Evander Holyfield vs Ezzard Charles, two tough, highly skilled small heavyweights.

Marvin Hagler vs Jake Lamotta, I don't think Jake would have lasted, Hagler would have broke him down, like he did Mugambi.

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Joey Maxim, I think Maxim would have beat Leonard and Donny Lalong on the same night.

Thomas Hearns vs Charley Burley, old school Hagler style figher vs the modern Hit man, I think Burley takes Tommy much the way Hagler did, in all time classic fashion.

George Forman vs Joe Louis, just to see what would happen, Big George was much more than a slugger during his second run at the heavyweight championship, he became a solid boxer with a good jab and decent skills, I think he would have given Joe, Walcott, Charles and even Marciano problems.

Tyson vs Marciano, just to silence the Tyson cult once and for all.  I think Marciano would have crushed Mike's aura of invincibility a lot faster than Douglas did, Mike wouldn't have been able to search for his mouth piece, he probably would have swallowed it along with most of his teeth along with most of Rock's right glove.  Marciano in the late 50's would have knocked Mike right back into the 80's.
