  1. She's not real, but I would put a copy of the Venus de Milo in there.

  2. You have to have one of the statues from Easter island or The Sphynx (Historical)

Ben Franklin or Thomas Edison (Inovator)

Tiger Woods or Muhammed Ali (sports)

Abraham Lincoln or Rosa Parks (help relief of oppression)

Ghengis Khan or Alexander the Great (Leaders/Warriors)

Ghandi or Lady Di (world uniters in love and peace)

Thanks for the excersize, that was fun.  Great question.

  3. Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, Dallas Clark, Brandon Stokely, Derek Jeter, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, David Letterman, Bob Barker, and Will Ferrell.

Seriously, I have some yard statues and it has taken me along time to decide what I wanted and where to put it.  This is really a matter of choice, taste and your lawn design.  I spend alot of time on my yard and take pride in the way it looks.  But if you are looking for some ideas this is what I have.

2 Cement Bears about 3 foot tall, One is holding a fish that says welcome.

1 Cement Bird Bath.  Not quite 3 foot tall.  This one took me awhile to find what I was looking for.

1 set of 3 logs that have water running over them.  I liked this one to begin with but when I added the lighting effects to it, very nice.

2 Cement Flower planters that resemeble the old time cannons.

3 Plastic Owls (Sand Filled). Almost 2 ft tall. This helps to keep the birds away from water features.

2 Cement Boxers (the dogs).  These represent my two beautiful Boxers.

Several different Cement slabs (some have writing on them, mostly representing things about my dogs and some about peaceful living).

4 Big Boulders. These are stratigically placed throughout the property.

I have a lot more yard decorations, patio furniture, and hanging baskets, etc... but those are not really statues.  I could go on and on about my yard but will stop here before I bore you.  So, anyway, use your imagination and take your time.  It is worth it.

  4. Alfred E. Neuman

    Kyle Broflovski

    Caligula

    Horus

    Genghis Khan

    Anne Bonny

    Wilma P. Slaghoople

    Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

    Archimedes

    George S. Patton

  5. THIS is an odd question! I have statues of angels in my garden.  But...different strokes for different folks, right? At our local nursery, they once had a giant statue of Titan (the mythological King of the Sea).  It was cool! I have also seen statues of Venus (fairly common), one of Mark Twain, and several painted ones of Madonna (not the singer).

  6. Linnaeus, Joseph Banks, william jackson hooker, robert fortune, charles s. sargent, e h wilson, william bartram, john bartram, thomas jefferson, michael a dirr .  L=taxonomist, JB-jb=plant explorers, tj=gardener, md=horticulturist

  7. First of all I wouldn’t have 10 statues in my garden unless I lived in Versailles. I think it would be a bit much.

Second I wouldn’t have statues of ‘people’ per se but those of folklore, legend, myth and fantasy.

The first statue I would install would be the “Mannekin Pis” – the 24 inch peeing boy of Belgium.

The rest I would have to think long and hard about.
