To make one really good hitter, what would you pick?

This is like a remix of Greta's question from yesterday.

  1. If I can take 3 qualities from a hitter I would have:

    1. Albert Pujols' hitting smarts. He analyzes the holes on the field before he hits. That's how he is such a great hitter.

    2. David Ortiz's mind set in pressure situations. This guy strives under clutch situations...most of all, he's calm at the same time.

    3. Vladimir Guerrero's quick hands. No matter what, Guerrero has the ability to hit the ball in any place at any speed...making him such a great hitter.

  2. speed

    unbelievable power

    and great contect

  3. Albert Pujols' knowledge of the plate

    Pete Rose's consistency

    Lou Brock's speed

  4. Bonds' strike zone discipline.

    Ruth's power.

    Mantle's switch-hit ability.

  5. Rickey Henderson's speed

    Harmon Killabrew's power

    Will Clark's eye

With all these crazy video games they have these days, you can probably make a player like that.

  6. id take Tony Gwynns discipline,Ryan Howards power and Barry Bonds eye.

  7. Albert Pujols' ability to see the ball so well. He is such a great hitter and has such great pateince.

Valdimir Guerrero's ability to hit seemingly any ball no matter where it is pitched. He can hit balls 2 feet out of the strike zone it's unbelievable and that is very valuable in 2 strike counts.

Ted Williams' perfect average and power balance. Ted Williams is just the all around best hitter in MLB history.

  8. If I could take 3 hitting qualities they would be:

    Mark Texiera's switch hitting

Pete Rose's ability to put the ball in play and get on base

and big Papi's ability to handle pressure situations.

  9. Barry Bond's plate discipline. The guy always lead the league in walks. Got on base nearly half his at bats.

Pete Rose's bat control. Hardly ever struck out. Greatest contact hitter ever.

Babe Ruth's power. Played in a time where power was hard to come by. Had much less at bats then Aaron and Bonds, but still right behind them in home runs.
