If you could take credit for any invention we have today, what would it be and why?

back in the 1960s i invented what is now the GPS

but there was no satellites back then, my invention was a paper role with the desired map, which you rotated 1/2 turn every 4 miles, it then would show a pre printed road map, i was about to have it converted to operate from the gear box of any standard vehicle, but the Japanese beat me to it by using transistors and more modern methods which i didnt hace access to
