If you could visit any town in Australia, where would it be and why?

I'd like to visit Coober Pedy one day and try my luck at mining an Opal.  Plus the accommodation is all underground, so that would be a nice experience.

Melbourne - - Shopping!!!!

1st choice - Darwin, because I haven't been there and it sounds fantastic.

2nd choice - Perth, so I could see the Indian Ocean. Then I would have been to all the capitals including Canberra.

I'd also like to go to Broome.

All places that I have visited in Australia have been great. I would however like to visit Beechworth and surrounding areas as I am interested in Ned Kelly

Brisbane because of the weather, busy city living, and closeness to the coast, about l hour.  Surfer's Paradise is fascinating.  And Byron Bay.  Young, modern, and very 60's vibe.  Moreton Bay for a small town atmosphere - very country, and Stradbroke Island for laid back beach living.  All quite close to Brisbane .
