  1. Politics.....then I could find out the truth!

  2. London Buses.

  3. The erosion of British education, enterprise, health care, justice, law enforcement systems and of our social cohesion after 11 years of New Labour administration.

  4. Weekly food critic.

  5. Blood donation and how it makes all mankind equal.

  6. I would do a gossip column, failing that I could be the new Dear Deirdre......

  7. Crime and Punishment! ............ lots of crime ......... no punishment.

  8. I am afraid I would have to be controversial!

    Civil War in Britain?!?

Is it just a matter of time before a civil war breaks out in the UK? Will the cause be down to Religious beliefs? Asylum? Government? Poverty? Anarchy?

Who will the Armed Forces fight for and will Martial Law come into effect?

It is a matter of time - or is it?

  9. I've always wanted to review movies or books... I know it doesn't solve world peace or shed much light on today's society's ills... but I'd be happy!

  10. I would write a piece on the decline of respect and common courtesy in the US... starting with the Beatniks moving on to the radical uprisings in the 60's and 70's. I would point out that before that era people respected the office of the presidency even if they didn't respect the president himself. They respected the laws and the freedoms they had in their country, even when they didn't agree with the policies and politicians in power. It was during that radical time that large numbers of people decided it was okay to throw fits (demonstrations and riots) and angrily bad-mouth the government and politicians and anyone else in authority who didn't give in to their demands to have their own way.  I would also point out that this generation of kids was one of the first raised on the Dr. Spock ideas that you shouldn't corporally discipline your child and 2 year olds are "just going through a stage" so "empower them" instead of nipping it in the bud by showing them who's boss.

  11. I'd write about how gullible some people are, believing anything they read without verifying it from any other source!!  I could give lots of examples taken from these boards of folk getting totally worked up out of all proportion with the real story behind the spin.

This is general btw, and not aimed at the asker!!

  12. I'm not sure now but when I was on the dole I would've liked to have written a diary about it so people can see how hard it is to find another job even when you're applying for jobs every chance you get. And about what REALLY happens when you're on New Deal.....

Luckily I have a new job now.

  13. Bird watching in my local patch or bipolar disorder which i have, i think i would have a good crack at both.

  14. THE TOTAL LOSS OF DISCIPLINE IN JUST ABOUT ANY COUNTRY 2DAY!   Should be very interesting to see what reaction the readers 'out there' show.  Since discipline walked out the back door when a few decided that one's brats will be better off if they can do what they like, when they like ad how they like -  no punishment so they can sit up and take note that it's not the way to go about or act - the decline in discipline, respect (which is earned), honesty etc, etc, etc, is seen every day in the newspapers, new bulletins and on

the sidewalks of life where one sees how kids address their parents, their elders and how most parents react to their kids' ways ..... it's unbelievable.
